Inter-state drugs, arms syndicate busted, 3 arrested
Jharsuguda: The Jharsuguda district police have dismantled an inter-state narcotics and arms syndicate and arrested three persons. A large quantity of contraband ganja, a firearm, live ammunition and Rs 4.87 lakh in cash, suspected to be proceeds of illegal trade, were seized, police said on Thursday. Police identified the accused as Md. Kamal alias Kamaluddin (32) and Suresh Singh (30) of Bandhabahal and Narendra Prasad Bais (22), a supplier hailing from Singrauli district in Madhya Pradesh, who currently lives in Mahadevpada in Banharpali. The trio was part of a larger network involved in the secret transportation and distribution of ganja across industrial and residential areas of Jharsuguda. Further investigation is underway to trace other members of the syndicate.
